Brief Overview

SinghMedia is dedicated to improving the perception of the Sikh community in North America. Given the recent challenges Sikhs have faced since the tragic events of September 11th, SinghMedia has undertaken a two-pronged approach to enhancing its perception:

  • Building a Platform: By attempting to inspire and motivate the Sikh youth and young Sikh professionals to take action, SinghMedia hopes to leverage a strong and vibrant community to help strengthen the perception of Sikhs in North America.
  • Turning the tide: By undertaking specific projects on a regular basis, SinghMedia hopes to directly influence its western audience and work with them to show Sikhs as peaceful and positive contributors to society.

Current and Past Projects

Sikh PR Case Competition

Based on the "Case Competition" method prominent at many business schools, the SinghMedia case challenge will present the current Sikh Public Relations (PR) obstacles to current MBA, PR, Journalism and Social Impact students at leading schools.

Teams of students will be encouraged to participate with several thousands of dollars going to the top presentation. The case challenge will be ready for the class entering in 2007.  Further details will be posted to the website in the fall.

In addition to the case competition, SinghMedia plans to work collaboratively with academic institutions to integrate the case into their curriculum. The case illustrates a number of key situations, including changing societal perceptions, as well developing a strategic plan for a social new venture.
